I moor my boat by the misty shore,

the day is late, my traveler's sorrow renews.

In vast fields, the sky lowers itself to the trees,

on the limpid river, the moon moves closer, and closer...

Blue skies,

Ground strewn with yellow leaves,

The colors of autumn going down to the waves,

Over which a chilly bluish mist pervades.

Slanting sunrays shine among the hills,

The sky joins the water.

Sweet grasses, unfeeling, have grown beyond the sunset.

Ah, missing my native place,

Recalling my travels each night

Unless sweet dreams keep me in their land, tight.

A bright moon shining on a many-storeyed building –

Do not stay up there alone!

Any wine that pours into a sad person

Turns immediately into tears of lovesick pining.
